Figure Painting

Robot One-Build

December 14, 2017 By Jeff Wilhelm

I wish I could say I was really fast at building, but I started this months ago when I picked up the kit.  I got it out the other night and thought it was time to finish it and the other models from this box set.

The base is Ancient Ruins II 60 mm base #1  from Dragon Forge Design. I added some sand bags to it sculpted from Magic-Sculpt putty

The head on the Robot is an aftermarket bit cast in resin I bought off of eBay

I will add some skulls yet to the base and maybe a few rivets to the model.

So far so good.

New beginnings require new tools

December 13, 2017 By Jeff Wilhelm

As I get ready to begin a new adventure into getting back into figure painting and modeling I needed a few new things to get me going. I picked up a new self healing cutting mat made by Alvin off of Amazon along with a new knife and pack of #11 blades.
The sanding stick is actually used for nails art and can be picked up cheaply in bulk on places like eBay.

The new brushes are Handover Series 33 Kolinsky Sable and seem to be very excellent quality at an affordable price of around $5.00 a brush. I ordered them online from Handover and deliver time was about 2 weeks.

Well this is it for now, as I continue to learn how to use WordPress, expect lots of posts.
